Shukuchi Ninja is a fast paced, high intensity game with unique controls to put a spin on the way we play games. With influences from games from the naughties including The Ninja (SEGA Master System) and Super Mario (SNES), Shukuchi Ninja has all the elements and feel of a classic 90s game with a modern twist.

Journey through ancient Japan as the Shukuchi Ninja, exiled from his former clan for wanting a more honourable way of life. Travel through vast areas defeating the Shukuchi Ninja’s new found foe to bring peace and prosperity in a time of turmoil.

Shukuchi literally translated means shrink earth method, to travel at great speed, an ability that our hero has perfected over years of training. Take control of the Shukuchi Ninja and fly through the air at astonishing speed with the swipe of your finger, attack enemies with your ninjatō, throw shuriken (ninja stars) at hard to reach enemies and instantly teleport to quickly counter enemy attacks. With the power of healing, you must also aid the Shukuchi Ninja to ensure he doesn’t die!

Each chapter of the game has a unique feel, with scenery and music to suit every environment. While we’re on the subject of chapters, there are currently 7 in development each featuring 10 levels, with one Master to defeat at the end. Each level is fun and action packed with varying levels of difficulty. Levels are also constructed to suit anyone’s ability – don’t want a challenge but enjoy the story? No problem! Play at your own pace. Hardcore gamer who wants to score 3 stars on every level and unlock every achievement? No problem! With tight score margins and limited moves Shukuchi Ninja turns into an impressive challenge to beat.

To keep up with the times, Shukuchi Ninja uses a standard 16:9 aspect ratio meaning it’ll scale perfectly on the majority of smartphones, monitors and televisions. Don’t worry if your mobile device uses a different aspect ratio, with built in scaling it’ll look impressive on any device. By keeping the resolution at 1366 x 768, allows for that slightly older, not Full HD quality vibe, which, coupled with pixel art keeps the connection between the 90s and 2020.

Music and sound are critical to any game and while retro 8/16bit style music sounds great, it’s not what people want to hear on a high intensity game. This is why Shukuchi Ninja features fully composed music with traditional Japanese instruments which compliment the artwork and keeps you engaged and connected to the game. Quirky, high quality sounds and voice overs have also been used to give Shukuchi Ninja a comical side enhancing enjoyment while playing.
